MY Sound 8


The eighth edition of MY Sound will start on Sunday, 15 January 2012. Seven songs will be competing to represent Malaysia in Ourvision Song Contest (OVSC) 20. All competing songs are as below.

  • All returning artists will make their fourth appearance in MY Sound.
  • For the first time, one song that is entirely in Chinese language will be competing alongside two English songs and four Malay songs.
  • Siti Nurhaliza, who finished sixth, second and third in MY Sound 2, MY Sound 3 and MY Sound 7 respectively will enter again with the same song participating in MY Sound 7 entitled "Falling in Love".
  • The winner of MY Sound 5, Nikki Palikat, who has also finished second twice in MY Sound, will join again in this edition with "Hawa".
  • One-time MY Sound winner Aizat Amdan, who previously represented Malaysia in OVSC 11 and OVSC 18, will enter MY Sound for the fourth time with "Pergi".
  • Bunkface, who just recently won the previous edition of MY Sound with "Prom Queen", will be competing in this edition with their latest single entitled "Panik".
  • For the record, Aizat Amdan is the first male artist and Bunkface is the first band to enter MY Sound the most, which is four times.

Good afternoon! This is my weekly chart for singles. Only 25 songs are eligible to enter the singles chart.   ' Dare I Say ' jumps from no.11 to no. 1, making it the biggest jump of the week. 'Dare I Say' is Alexander Rybak's third no. 1 song, making him the only artist to have 3 no. 1 songs in the chart history. The 'Dare I Say' jump from no. 11 to no. 1 breaks the record of the biggest jump to number one which was held by 'Fairytale' in week 7 . Last week topper 'Canta Por Mim' slips down to no. 2. Eric Saade's 'Upgrade' re-enter the chart at no. 3 while 'Glow' jumps 4 spots to no. 4. 'Kisah Hati' by Alyah and Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' debuted at no. 5 and no. 7 respectively. Germans close on Dutch, England go fifth
