Robert Downey Jr. saves two kittens
Actor, previously not a 'rescue pets' kind of guy, says he's come full circle and loves his new companions. |
First Clooney and now Downey?
As I mentioned yesterday (to much praise from the social media crowd), George Clooney recently fell head over heels in love with a shelter dog he found online. "He loves me," the actor quipped after admitting he earned his affection by rubbing turkey meatballs all over his shoes. "I can do no wrong. He follows me everywhere."
Courtesy of the latest issue of Men's Fitness, we now know that Robert Downey Jr. has also been bitten by the pet rescue bug.
"Eighteen months ago, I'm saying, 'I don't want any rescue pets within
100 yards of either of my residences, I'm sorry. I don't want some,
like, tripod, abused animal,'" he says. "I was adamantly opposed to the
whole idea. And now I couldn't imagine living without them. I've become
one of those people where the Missus is like, 'They don't want to see iPhone pictures of our kittens right now. Stop it.'"
Robert and his wife Susan, who is pregnant with the couple's first child, say a friend found the kittens in a bush in West Hollywood. "Their names are Montgomery and Dartanian," the actor added.
Downey's latest film, "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," hits
theaters this weekend. MNN's Gerri Miller recently caught up with the
cast and crew to learn about greening efforts during production. Check
out the surprising results — as well as a trailer for the film — by jumping here.
